Why does God allow people to become homeless?

WHY SO MUCH SUFFERING?

People of various religions have gone to their religious leaders and teachers to ask why there is so much suffering. Often, the response is that suffering is God’s will and that he long ago determined everything that would ever happen, including tragic events. Many are told that God’s ways are mysterious or that he brings death upon people―even children―so that he can have them in heaven with him. As you have learned, though, Jehovah God never causes what is bad. The Bible says: “Far be it from the true God to act wickedly, and the Almighty to act unjustly!”―Job 34:10.

Do you know why people make the mistake of blaming God for all the suffering in the world? In many cases, they blame Almighty God because they think that he is the real ruler of this world. They do not know a simple but important truth that the Bible teaches. The real ruler of this world is Satan the Devil.

The Bible clearly states: “The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.” (1?John 5:19) When you think about it, does that not make sense? This world reflects the personality of the invisible spirit creature who is “misleading the entire inhabited earth.” (Revelation 12:9) Satan is hateful, deceptive, and cruel. So the world, under his influence, is full of hatred, deceit, and cruelty. That is one reason why there is so much suffering.

A second reason why there is so much suffering is that, mankind has been imperfect and sinful ever since the rebellion in the garden of Eden. Sinful humans tend to struggle for dominance, and this results in wars, oppression, and suffering. (Ecclesiastes 4:1; 8:9) A third reason for suffering is “time and unforeseen occurrence.” (Ecclesiastes 9:11) In a world without Jehovah as a protective Ruler, people may suffer because they happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It is comforting for us to know that God does not cause suffering. He is not responsible for the wars, the crimes, the oppression, or even the natural disasters that cause people to suffer. Still, we need to know, Why does Jehovah allow all this suffering? If he is the Almighty, he has the power to stop it. Why, then, does he hold back? The loving God that we have come to know must have a good reason.―1?John 4:8.

The reason God allowed me to become homeless was because of to many drugs. I mean I took lots and lots of drugs every day until I was homeless but then I stopped taking drugs and got a home. Then I took more drugs and almost became homeless again.

The 3 primary factors are drugs, booze and mental illness. Sin in and of itself could also make you homeless but it is less likely. Yet if you covet a persons wife, they might burn down your house and God will not protect you from this because you are a sinner.

There are various reasons why people become homeless, this includes loss of employment, divorce, long-term illness, substance abuse, lack of affordable housing etc. God has allowed many things to happen for instance suffering, injustice, war etc. The scripture at Revelation 12:7-9 explains why a lot of bad things happen to mankind the scriptures states that "The huge dragon was thrown out―that ancient serpent, named the Devil, or Satan, that deceived the whole world. He was thrown down to earth, and all his angels with him." Also keep in mind the inclination of man, we are all sinful. God has a solution, under God's Kingdom, obedient ones will see the fulfillment of Isaiah 65:21,22 where it says,"People will build houses and get to live in them―they will not be used by someone else. They will plant vineyards... Like trees, my people will live long lives. They will fully enjoy the things that they have worked for." From this prophecy no one will be homeless.

Same reason He allows other human problems. He's giving us the opportunity to experience having our own way. It's OUR failure that insufficient housing exists for the indigent. Certainly there's more than enough unused land. There's more than enough building material. We need to be concerned about a clean water supply and adequate sewer systems. Also energy could be cheaply produced if special interests such as oil didn't stand in the way. It's a clear case of HUMAN carelessness and mismanagement on a colossal scale. God has given us the raw materials. We simply refuse to share the resources in an equitable way. It's called greed. How is that God's fault ?

That is what Gods people are suppose to take care of.. Gods message is love and caring for others. Sadly this generation are not taught to follow the scriptures. If we can help someone financially that is a blessing , some can not afford to do that but we can help by volunteering at food banks, soup kitchens, etc. the greatest thing is to pray for them. It is the greed of man that causes these things, no jobs, no love for others if we lived like the scriptures say there would be no more low class, middle class, or upper class we would have all things common. That time is coming. This is one area I need to do more of to give more of my time and more of myself.

God allows people to become homeless because of sin and freewill.

When adam and Eve ate that fruit that they weren't supposed to eat. They brought sin and disaster to this world. God had made a perfect world with peaceness. We were supposed to live forever. But the devil got in the way. The snake who is part of the devil told Eve that it was ok to eat that fruit god had told them not to eat. They disobey god. God never wants to hurt us. Every bad thing that happens in this world is because adam and eve disobey god. The devil is always trying to make disasters in this world. And people being homeless is one of them.

What kind of test would mortality be if every time someone had problems God bailed them out? God has given us the rules of life - the commandments, and has given us our agency to either follow His commandments or to live in sin. We are all effected by other people's sins as well as our own. In the end God will sort it all out, and we will be rewarded according to our works. Those who repent and follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ shall receive a remission of their sins. See below.

Why does God allow suffering?

+ Suffering caused by human beings +

Human evil is caused the the misuse of our free will. Our choice to be selfish instead of being loving. If you cannot choose to not to love then God is a tyrant and you are nothing but a robot. Your love has to be your own or it does not mean a thing.

+ Suffering caused by nature +

God did not condemn us to a perfect world. He (or She) gave us a world where we can face our fears, show courage, compassion and sympathy.

In a perfect world we would not need anyone and no one would need us. There would be no community, no interdependence. There would be no legacy of your life to leave, nothing for you to offer, nothing to make the world a better place. And, ultimately, nothing you can do for the kingdom of God.

The Bible does not tackle this question with easy answers.

+ Jesus +

Jesus (God the Son) did not rush to his friend Lazarus when he was dying. Jesus waited until Lazarus had died and only then went to Lazarus' sisters, Mary and Martha who asked him the question: "Where were you when our brother was dying? Why didn't you come and cure him?"

Instead of answering their question, Jesus asks: "Where have you put him?" When Jesus sees the tomb and their grief, he sits down and begins to cry. God shares their grief. Only afterwards does he raise up the body of his dead friend.

+ Haiti +

Where was God during the earthquake hit Haiti? Or Japan?

In the midst of humanity in its saddest hour, God was (and is) sharing in their grief. He was crying beside the collapsed buildings and mass graves.

Fr Ronald Rolheiser wrote an wonderful article on God, tragedy, and Haiti in which he finishes with "In God's time, eventually, not a single life or single dream that died in Haiti will remain unredeemed." http://www.the-tidings.com/2010/012910/r...

And if we truly trust God and truly want His will to be done, then we can believe as Julian of Norwich claimed was said to her by God Himself, "In the end, all will be well and all will be well and every manner of being will be well." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian_of_N...

Pope John Paul II also wrote a beautiful letter called Salvifici Doloris, On the Christian Meaning of Human Suffering: http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/john_p...

With love in Christ.

we have to suffer-go through trials in order for us to know that there's a God. if we didn't suffer-go through trials we wouldn't need God

there have been homeless people on the street that got on their feet and their are homeless people that can but choose to stay there. i watched a show called Lost Angels On Skid Road and people said they prefer to stay there.

I may not know why things happen as they do. But i know that God has a plan for everyone.

We are to work as God's hands in a way. So instead of asking why, just say, "Well, Jesus wants me to help the poor and needy and that is what i will do." That is the way i see it. We may not know why, but God ALWAYS has a plan.

People are homeless because other humans steal from them without mercy. It is part of humans trying to rule themselves just as Eve' s reason for committing sin. To be like God, deciding what they should do.

This challenge goes directly to God's right to rule his creations---US. Time has been given for that challenge Satan started to be,settled. Time is almost up and God will act.

The prophecy in Isaiah concerns after that time, when God's Kingdom rules, when each person will OWN their own houses and LIVE IN THEM. No one will take it from them nor take away food they make.

There is nothing Satan and humans have done that God will not fix better than ever before.

God has put us here to learn love, control over our bodies and to be obedient to the laws He has set. Since this earth is not our final destination, and it will be little remembered, nor indeed ever come to mind after our death, see Isaiah 65, It is of no consequence what happens to us here. Only what we DO here matters to us in the eternities. IF YOU WANT TO EFFECT CHANGE AND RECEIVE BLESSINGS, BE OBEDIENT THAT YOUR CONFIDENCE CAN WAX STRONG IN HIS PRESENCE, AND PRAY FOR BLESSINGS WITH FAITH. This is why we are here, to be ye therefore perfect as your Father in Heaven is perfect. We are weak and will never make it without the atoning power of Christ. So realize Him as the only name under Heaven wherein ye can be saved. Be obedient to His commandments and faithful to His gospel and you will become as He is someday. That is why we are here.

Aha is this really a legitimate question? People are homeless because their lazy and don't want to get a job

God can put you at a cross roads. Like those origami fortune tellers. He can give you voices but you have to choose between them. Occasionally people make a mistake but usually God helps them find their way again.

Primitive people lived homeless, they learned to live in home like shelters/ caves and later to build homes, god didn't do any thing to help them.

God placed Adam in a perfect paradise where all his needs were met. Adam traded that for some forbidden knowledge - for himself and all the rest of us.

Gen 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

When Adam sinned, God drove him from Eden into a cold hard world to work for his own living. Since then, that is a requirement for all of us.

Live your life in a godly manner and things will take care of themselves.

Psa 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

2Th 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

The number of homes are finite. The number of people are infinite. You do the math.

if you are homeless you can eat my carrots and ride my camels near my fig trees. SALAM.

Follow the caravan.

the capitalist system makes people homeless

two options

1. god doesn't care

2 god does not exist.

two options

1. god doesn't care

2 god does not exist.

If there is no God, why should you care? It's all just survival of the fittest, right?

All gods are myths.

God doesn't, Satan does.

maybe to teach patience, humility and/or to show them that they need God.
